Are 'coliving' and 'coworking' changing our lives?

The common spaces in communities of owners where you live are called Colivings while the same areas if you work are considered Coworkings. Both colivings and coworkings proliferate. Surely with the obligation to maintain a social distance of two meters this trend will be slowed down. However, both coworkings and colivings are large spaces: there will be no problem in complying with the anti-Covid 19 regulations.

At Finques Feliu we are also looking to the future. So, we are at your disposal to help you find the most attractive ones to be creative "chance accelerators". Colivings and Coworkings are a growing option among young people.

Our relationship with social networks is contradictory. On the one hand, we accuse them of having isolated us, on the other hand, we love them to share our uniqueness with a point of narcissism. However, there is something we agree on: collaborating through them is stimulating when it comes to: sharing experiences, being disruptive in business projects or creating artistic pieces.

But how has it gone from appreciating teamwork in the abstract to enabling common physical spaces to do so? The idea, in its modern version, was born in Berlin in 1995 thanks to the C-base e.V. association that gave birth to the Berlin Backbone project where people who knew each other began to share their work under the same roof by making community and exchanging ideas in a space less rigid than a conventional office.

From a quantitative point of view to the urban environment coworkings are more, on the other hand, when we talk only about communities of owners it is exactly the opposite. The border between "coworking" and "coliving" is imperceptible because both are socialization activities.

A key factor in the emergence of these spaces is that young people value more the fact of living experiences "here and now": trips, unique situations, friendships, love relationships or intellectual experiences, than postponing these rewards... the fleeting and absolute predominance of the present conditions us. Given the current values and the irruption of the 'smart cities', it is very possible that the spaces of "coworking" and "coliving" attract even more talent to Barcelona and its metropolitan area. We must be aware that the transformation towards sharing creative ideas through interaction is a fundamental social trend that transforms our lives.
